Farming methods

We are one of the only farms in Virginia to exclusively farm using Flip Farm technologies. We grow each oyster on the surface of the water in floating gear in big, open water. The oysters are consistently worked and tossed around in the high energy area, creating the uniformity, hinge strength, and super healthy meat - all aspects that make Top Shelf Oysters so unique.

Meet the Team

Steamboat Wharf Oyster Company is a family-owned business dedicated to growing a damn good oyster.  Located in a prime oyster-growing region, we take pride in offering high-quality, sustainably sourced Top Shelf oysters. 

With years of experience on the water and a deep appreciation for the bay and nature, we decided to start our farm in 2020. We traded our dress shoes for muddy waders and haven’t looked back. 


  • Founder, Marketing & Sales

    Callie is a Virginia Beach native, turned Northern Neck local. She’s in charge of our day-to-day operations and keeps us all running. She’s a devoted dog mama and loves spending time on the boat.

  • Founder, Farm Manager

    Thomas was raised in the Northern Neck and was stoked to move back home. He is the backbone of our company, keeping our farm in tiptop shape. He manages our product from seed to shuck and loves serving our oysters at events.
